Now New Era Policyholders Can Get Enhanced Benefits During COVID-19

The current COVID-19 pandemic has taken a crushing toll on the world, with the US being the most affected country. In the US, thousands of new COVID-19 cases are surfacing, and the death toll is surging drastically with each passing day. So far, almost 600,000 cases have appeared in the US, out of which nearly 23,000 people have lost their lives.

In response to these critical times, New Era Life and its subsidiary company Philadelphia American Life, have brought about a few changes in their Health Choice & Health Saver Series policy to help policyholders meet their emerging health needs amidst the current COVID-19. With this step, New Era has again proved that it is not only committed to providing consumer-driven healthcare plans to Americans, but it is also ready to walk the extra mile to ensure their health and well-being.

The new changes primarily offer additional benefits to policyholders tested positive for COVID-19 during April, May, and June of 2020. The extra benefits include:

Waived Premiums

If you or your family member, who is insured with Health Choice & Health Saver Series policy, gets diagnosed with COVID-19, New Era will waive your next two monthly premiums on the current plan.

Increased Prescription Benefits

For any prescriptions filled during April, May, and June of 2020, Health Choice & Health Saver Series policyholders will get double of the normal prescription benefits, announced New Era.

Improved Inpatients Benefits

Any policyholder who admits to a medical facility during April, May, June, or July of 2020 for an illness related to COVID-19, they will get the following inpatient benefits:

● Doubled normal Facility Daily Indemnity Benefit for the initial five days of inpatient stay (this includes only ICU and non-ICU inpatient Daily Indemnity Benefit).

● Increased normal Facility Daily Indemnity benefit by 50% for the next 25 days of the inpatient stay (this includes only the ICU and non-ICU inpatient Daily Indemnity Benefit).

Note: COVID-19 and related illnesses will be considered a pre-existing condition if you or your family member tests positive for COVID-19 before the effective date of your policy. Pre-existing conditions are not covered under the healthcare policy for the initial twelve months of coverage (pre-existing periods may vary by state).
